Meet Your Hosts
In 2023, the two of us, Raffaele Exiana & Ron Williams, traveled from Walla Walla to the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, where Raff was born and raised. We found the perfect home base in Berchidda, a town of 2,700 souls, located in foothills of Mount Limbara, just 20 miles from the port city of Olbia a the famous Emerald Coast. We want to share this little-known part of Italy with you– people who appreciate a fully immersive, authentic travel experience. Together we’ll explore the heartland of Sardinia– its rugged beauty, its cuisine and its millennia-old traditions.
Built in 1931, our home sits on 4 acres of vineyards and orchards terraced up the mountain behind us. The house itself is built of solid granite wall, topped with plaster which is hand-painted with Art Deco motifs. The only drawback? It has been abandoned for 50+ years. There is much to do to fully restore the house, which is woven into the history and lore of the town. We hope to create a gathering place for visiting guest and locals, with additional lodging on the property. Welcome to our Sardinia!
